Visual Arts

At St. Michael's Prep we believe in fostering joyful expression and skillful creativity in students across all grade levels. Our Visual Arts Program is designed to provide a comprehensive artistic education, integrating art history, aesthetics, and skill development from PreK to 12th grade.
In our program, students explore a wide range of artistic media and techniques, allowing them to create meaningful and imaginative artworks. From 2-D drawings to 3-D sculptures, our curriculum encompasses diverse projects tailored to each grade level's developmental stage.

  • Lower School Art

    Our Lower School artists embark on a journey of artistic discovery, building foundational skills while exploring various mediums such as drawing, painting, ceramics, fiber arts, and more. Through cross-curricular projects and collaborative efforts, students develop creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence in their artistic abilities.
  • Middle School Art

    In our Middle School, students delve deeper into 2-D and 3-D art, honing their skills and exploring themes of self-expression and cultural heritage. From multimedia self-portraits to constructed reed sculptures, students engage in hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity and critical thinking.
  • Upper School Art

    At the Upper School level, students refine their artistic skills and deepen their understanding of art history and aesthetics. Our diverse course offerings, including Art I, Introduction to Painting, Drawing Lab, and Art Portfolio Preparation, cater to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced artists. Through personalized instruction and hands-on projects, students prepare for success in the competitive art world and beyond.
