The mission of the St. Michael’s Prep Lower and Middle School library is to celebrate the natural curiosity in a child’s mind and give them the lifelong skills needed to satisfy that curiosity. Each week students from Pre-K 3 to 4th grade enjoy visiting the library where they learn information literacy skills, find their ‘just right’ book, hear stories, play games, engage in author studies, and learn how to navigate the collection. The library is located next to our d.Lab where our Librarian and the STEAM Director often meet with the students to bring stories to life with hands-on activities.
The library is a vibrant and busy spot where lower school and middle school students, staff and parents can meet for tutoring, independent study, after-school clubs, before-school meetings, and/or quiet reflection. We have an impressive collection of 25,000 items from board books to research materials. There is something for everyone at the St. Michael’s Prep library, and everyone is always welcome.
