Mary Helen Acosta

Lower and Middle School Dean of Humanities
Mary Helen Acosta has dedicated over 20 years to supporting students and faculty in primary, secondary, and university settings. She is passionate about literacy and finds joy in helping students grow as readers, writers, and analytical thinkers. A strong advocate for authentic literacy practices, she emphasizes the application of these skills across various disciplines. Mrs. Acosta earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rice University, along with master’s degrees in Public Administration (Texas A&M) and Education (UT Arlington). She is also a certified Reading Specialist in Texas. When she doesn't have her nose in a book, you can find Mary Helen hiking, relaxing with her two kitties, or planning trips to all the national parks.
