Head Track & Field Coach; Assistant Football Coach
Here’s a narrative version of the bio:
Coach Scales brings extensive experience as both a coach and former athlete to his role at St. Michael’s Prep. Currently, he serves as the Defensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the football program, as well as the Head Track & Field Coach. Previously, he held roles as Co-Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator from 2020 to 2022, and as an Assistant Coach specializing in throwers for the track team during the 2021–2022 season.
As a player, Coach Scales competed professionally as a defensive lineman for the Salina Liberty in Kansas and the Cedar Rapids River Kings in Iowa during the 2019 season. His collegiate football career included playing on the defensive line at Southeastern University in Florida from 2016 to 2018 and at Benedictine College in Kansas from 2014 to 2015. His athletic journey began at Cedar Ridge High School in Texas, where he excelled as an offensive lineman and discus thrower.
Outside of coaching, Coach Scales is supported by his wife, Aliyah, who works as a school counselor at Gateway College Preparatory School. Together, they share a passion for education and helping students succeed both on and off the field.
