Fr. Bud Roland

Chaplain
Father Bud is a priest of the Diocese of Austin. Ordained in 1999, Father Bud served the following Catholic parishes in Austin: St. Louis Catholic Church (Parochial Vicar 1999-2000), St. Mary Cathedral (Rector 2000-2008), and St. John Neumann (Pastor 2008-2021). Following a transition into retirement from active ministry, Fr. Bud joined the St. Gabriel’s Catholic School community as the part-time chaplain and continues to assist various parishes as a supply priest. Prior to entering the seminary in 1993, Fr. Roland led several social service agencies (governmental as well as NGO) primarily serving the poor and elderly. Undergraduate studies encompassed music, the humanities, and history at West Texas State University, the University of Texas at San Antonio, the University of Southern California, St. Edward’s University, and the University of Dallas. He also earned a Master’s of Divinity degree from the University of St. Thomas located in Houston.
