Upper School Film Instructor
After a seven year Army stint, James attended the University of Texas, at Austin, earning degrees in Radio, TV, Film and a degree in History. He then dove into a 15 year independent film, where he garnered over a hundred film festival awards and had several awards named after him. In 2015 he was named one of the 50 top indie screenwriters in the world by the Action on Film Festival. While working on his own films, he started the Austin Revolution Film Festival for independent filmmakers, currently ranked #1 on Film Freeway out of 14,000 festivals. For ten years, he's run the St. Michael's Prep Film program where the students have made several student films, won dozens of awards and played in 10 different countries. Currently, he's working to help other film teachers and professors to collaborate and produce the soon-to-be streaming travel show, Ballpark Nation. When not working, he hangs out with his wife Jessica, his daughter, grandkids and his two German Shepherds, Quint and Orbit.
