Upper School Competitive Robotics

Built upon a solid Middle School enginnering and science foundation, our Upper School FTC Team #12928, the LightSaders, remains dedicated to advancing in innovation, CAD design, creative builds and constant evolution, redefining the limits of robotics. Since its debut in the First Robotics field in 2016, Team #12928 has embarked on an exhilarating journey of growth and achievement, leaving an indelible mark on the global stage through numerous awards and championships.
In its inaugural year, our students boldly ventured into the realm of robotics competition and immediately made waves by earning a coveted spot at the World Championship in Houston. Over the years, the team has thrived and flourished, honing skills and sharpening its competitive edge with each passing season.

The team wrapped up its 2023-2024 school year achieving a remarkable 5th place out of 8,000 teams worldwide at the World Competition in Houston and competed in the prestigious Maryland Technical Invitational in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins University.

At the heart of this team's success lies their meticulously crafted and programmed robot, designed with precision and purpose, with a pass-through intake and a chain-driven flipping bar, allowing the team to navigate the competition arena with unparalleled agility and speed.

Fueling innovation is the team's unique engineering process, Metamorphosis, a seven-stage journey of evolution and refinement. From brainstorming and prototyping to testing, analysis, and modification, Metamorphosis empowers the team to iteratively improve designs and maximize performance on the battlefield.

Welcome to the future of robotics with FTC Team #12928, the LightSaders!
