Our competitive robotics team began in Middle School in 2003 as a FIRST Lego League Team. After 12 successful years, this program expanded into the Upper School.
Teams #8886 (Middle School) and #12928 (Upper School) have won several awards at top-level tournaments including the FLL and FTC World Championships, FLL US Open, FLL North American Championship, Texas State Championships at TAPPS, and many Central Texas Regional Championships. In 2014, our Middle School team joined our Upper School Team in the FIRST Tech Challenge division, comprised of mainly high school teams and in grades 7-12.
Through this highly competitive program, our teams have earned recognition in design, coding, and problem solving at various levels including the local Austin Metro League Championships, Texas Cup Championship, Regional Championships, and TAPPS State Championships.
Since 2018, the Upper School #12928 team has competed at the World Championships in Houston, TX, having finished 2nd place in 2021. Additionally, team #12928 has attended the coveted Maryland Tech Invitational held at Johns Hopkins University in 2019, 2022 and 2024, taking the first place alliance in 2022.
Team #8886, our Middle School team has earned a strong reputation amongst its high school peers having won the Innovation Award at the 2023 TAPPS State Championship and placing 2nd overall in the tournament. In 2021, teahm #8886 earned 2nd in our division at the premier of the Texas Cup at the San Antonio Alamodome.
